He is also an active medical staff member at Phoenix Regional Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Banner Payson Medical Center, and Thumb Butte Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Askari is an Assistant Professor with the University of Arizona Banner Medical Center.
The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from Universidad Mundial Dominicana School of Medicine in the Domenican Republic in 1984. Upon relocating to the United States, he performed his internship and residency in internal medicine, and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at St. Luke’s Hospital.
With a commitment to excellence in heart health, Dr. Askari is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), he is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Internal Medicine, and the Arizona Medical Association.
