Dr. Mokbel has been practicing dentistry in California since 1984. He received his degree in Dental Surgery from France in 1978. He then pursued a research project and a teaching opportunity at the Univ. of Paris and earned a second doctoral degree (Doctorate in Odontologic Sciences) In Prosthodontics or DSO in 1982. He has since received many teaching awards. As a member of The American Academy of periodontology, Dr. Mokbel is well versed in Gum recession treatment, gummy smile and bone grafting procedures. He has been treating advanced cases of Gum infection and bone loss with the Laser for many years, he is a very skilled surgeon with over 35 years experience. Dr. Mokbel takes great pride in treating all his patients personally, with a lot of compassion and dedication. He is very personable, caring and very gentle.

Sorry to hear that. the procedure can be very simple if the injury did not cause any bone destruction or infection. Need to start with a thorough examination, X-rays, scan impressions to get a good idea of your situation. Gingival recession happens around natural teeth. Once the teeth are removed, recession is not a question anymore. Denture refers to edentulous state, no teeth. You should get a follow up with the dentist who fabricated your dentures. If there are problems with the fit, adaptation or mobility that you dentist can not fix, then you should get Referral to a specialist. The more the better, teeth can still be restored even when they are just 1 or 2 mmm above the gums, assuming no caries are left, aRoot canal treatment and a build up of the tooth can proved enough space and strength to pace a crown. Hello, Congratulations on your new implant. Complex answer depending on number of implants, locations, and whether you have a temporary or not to protect the area! Can you get implants with bad gums?
Hello, It is best if you get a complete evaluation and treat gum disease. Infection of gums most of the time affects the underlying bones and it will interfere with the healing and integration of the implant. Implants should not be placed just to fill holes, but rather as part of a plan to rehabilitate your whole mouth and body.
