Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Manisha G. Abeysinghe, who serves patients throughout the State of New Jersey.

Dr. Abeysinghe is a trusted and highly skilled obstetrician-gynecologist with a diverse range of experience and expertise, taking special interests in minimally invasive surgery, general obstetrics, as well as health and wellness optimization. She sees patients at Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology, LLC with locations in Lebanon and two offices in Flemington, New Jersey.

Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology, LLC is a dedicated women’s health care practice partnering in a woman’s journey to health and wellness. The experienced team of board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists helps women through each stage of life with ongoing comprehensive health and wellness management. They use modern technology and well-researched techniques to provide a high level of care to women of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to offering advanced treatments, including minimally invasive surgeries like laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and endometrial ablation, the practice helps women through pregnancy, from family planning and birth control to infertility treatments to ultrasounds and pregnancy care.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Abeysinghe attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, for her undergraduate studies earning both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree.  For her medical education, she attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. Thereafter, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Dr Abeysinghe then joined Advanced Obstetrics and Gynecology in Flemington NJ and remained with them for 10 years until she moved to Singapore with her husband for his job. While she was there, she was a medical advisor and flight doctor for International SOS, the world’s largest medical assistance company. She also spent time in Singapore studying Ayurveda and other Eastern medicine techniques.  In addition she provided pro bono care to Women and Children’s hospitals in both Colombo, Sri Lanka and Kampot, Cambodia.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Furthermore, she holds additional board certification through the American Board of Anti-Aging / Regenerative Medicine. The Board is dedicated to the advancement of technology to detect, prevent, and treat aging related diseases and to promote research into methods to slow and optimize the human aging process.

Today, Dr. Abeysinghe is affiliated with many organizations of her professional peers. She is active with the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Asia-Pacific Association of Gynecologic Endoscopy. She is also a Reiki I and Reiki II master and holds an ayurvedic degree from the Institute of Ayurvedic and Integrative Medicine in Iowa.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Abeysinghe has received awards and recognition for her skills and her notable compassion for patients in her care, including Healthy Living’s New Jersey Top Doctor, America’s Top Ob/Gyn and multiple Patients’ Choice Awards, an Outstanding Laparoscopic Surgery Award, and Compassionate Doctor Recognition.  

Outside of her work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, two children, and Cavalier and reading and cooking.  She is fluent in English, Sinhalese, and conversational French.
