Back in 1988, Dr. Rizkalla earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree with honors from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He then went on to complete his general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
In his professional experience, he was the President of the Northern Virginia Dental Society and also represented Northern Virginia for many years as a member of the Executive Board of the Virginia Dental Association. He has held several positions in the Virginia Dental Association and the Northern Virginia Dental Society, including: Chairman of Continuing Education; Chairman of the Peer Review Committee; Chairman of the Executive Committee; Chairman of the Ethics Committee; and Chairman of the Dental Health and Public Information Committee.
In 2013, Dr. Rizkalla was appointed to the Virginia Board of Dentistry and in 2016, he was elected President of the Board. In addition to being on the Dean’s Faculty of University of Maryland School of Dentistry, he is a fellow of each of the following: the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Virginia Dental Association.

Before his devotion to the practice of excellent dentistry, Dr. Rizkalla is a committed husband, father, and community citizen. He has been married for 33 years, has two children, and stays actively involved in their lives, as well as the life of his community.
