During his academic career, Dr. Palmer attended the University of Miami Medical School, graduating with his medical degree in 1980. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 1985, before going on to complete his fellowship in plastic surgery at UCLA Medical Center in 1987. Thereafter, he completed his fellowship in microsurgical and hand surgery at the same venue, serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery in 1988.
In regards to the doctor’s accomplishments, he is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. He is also board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, whose mission to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
