Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Ahmad Yehya, who serves the Houston area at the Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Yehya completed his medical training at the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine and then continued his studies by undertaking his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center and fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Houston Methodist Hospital. He practices at the Houston Methodist Hospital and has been board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Currently, Dr. Yehya’s field of interest is bariatric surgery and he has given talks and interviews to publications so that he can further the field of study. Recently, he spoke with Diabetes in Control on bariatric surgery and plans to assist patients in every aspect of their physical health. In conjunction with his fellowship, Dr. Yehya sees a diverse group of patients for a variety of medical conditions. As a resident, Dr. Yehya undertook in-depth medical training in Internal Medicine and bariatric medicine. He conducted research as well so that he is able to contribute to new and innovative approaches to the field. As a fellow, Dr. Yehya has a profound interest in metabolism and participated in various weight management programs and clinics. Dr. Yehya works closely with the weight management program at Houston Methodist with special emphasis on weight loss medications, diet adjustment and exercise. Dr. Yehya is also particularly interested in the impact of lifestyle on diabetes.
