With more than two decades of clinical experience in endocrinology, Dr. Erani has served in diverse healthcare delivery settings ranging from large inner-city teaching hospitals to suburban community hospitals and office-based private practice. He was affiliated with Harrington Physician Services, and served as Director of Medical Programs at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, where he developed and directed innovative programs for patients. He also provided medical leadership to Joslin-affiliate centers across the United States.
Prior to his work in Boston, he was the Medical Director for the Joslin Diabetes Center in Houston, Texas.
After receiving his medical degree from New York University Grossman School of Medicine, Dr. Erani completed a residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and a fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Longwood Medical Area Training Program in Boston.
Passionate about clinical care and patient education, the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body.
