Get to know Psychologist Dr. Theresa Rose Bajt, who serves the population of Missouri. Dr. Bajt is a psychologist who practices in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her M.Ed from Harvard University and her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has over 25 years of experience working with adult disorders that include anxiety, obsessive compulsive, manic depressive, greif, ADHD/ADD and divorce or separation. Dr. Bajt had been honored with receiving the “Impact Award“. This award was granted to one woman each year that had produced at the beginning of her career an artistic or scientific contribution significant to the lives or psychological welfare of children. Dr. Bajt has also co-authored and published several research papers that can be found in the Journal of the American Psychologist. She co authored ( with K. Pope Ph.D.) “When Laws and Values Conflict: a Dilemma for Psychologists”. This research was featured in the New York Times article “When do a Therapist Actions Cross over the line?” which has been requested internationally for reprints. Dr. Bajt’s primary focus today is to bring quality and compassion into her therapy sessions. She believes her diverse background gives her the ability to install hope and navigation skills to her clients. Both her maternal and paternal grandparents were immigrants to the United States. Although neither of her parents attended high school, their example of working hard, and helping others, inspired her to not only continue her education, but to pursue her other goals. Prior to her educational career Dr. Bajt was Miss Montana USA (1977), appeared in a Dick Clark made for television movie, and wrote “Best Intentions” a movie script which was considered by one of Hollywood’s top agents. However, today what is most important in her life, and gives her a true compass, is her long term marriage, and children. “My husband and children have taught me how to love and forgive”.
