Her educational background is equally remarkable, having graduated from the prestigious Harvard School of Dental Medicine as the first dental student in Harvard's history to have received a concurrent degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Moreover, she holds a Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry and a Master of Oral Science from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry, where she received training in special health care needs and medically complex across multiple hospital settings, including the Texas Scottish Rite for Children. Dr. C. Ashley Orynich is a board certified pediatric dentist who loves making kids smile with her compassion and expertise. Known by her patients as Dr. Ashley, she has more than 12 years of professional experience in the field of dentistry. Dr. Ashley graduated as one of 35 dental students per class from the world-renowned University, Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In an environment of excellence, this curriculum is integrated within Harvard Medical School having a shared vision to transform dentistry by integrating oral and systemic health. This unique path strengthened Dr. Ashley’s ability to treat medically compromised patients and those with special health care needs, leading to her pursuit of pediatric specialization with Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry.
Her educational background is distinct, having earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science & Human Nutrition from the University of Florida, graduating college in three years as magna cum laude while serving as research investigator at the Brain Rehabilitation Research Center. Dr. Ashley also earned a Master of Public Administration Degree from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government as the first dental student in the University’s history to receive a concurrent degree while pursuing her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Following this, she served as the national American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Samuel D. Harris Health Research and Policy Fellow while completing her postdoctoral pediatric dentistry training. Furthermore, at the Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry she earned a Master in Oral Science Degree focusing on national policies impacting children through her thesis under the mentorship of Dr. N. Sue Seale and Dr. Paul Casamassimo.
Having published numerous papers on pediatric oral health, Dr. Ashley enjoys being at the forefront of healthcare innovation and technology. She has international experience studying health policy in Geneva, Switzerland, and applying her research findings to field work with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Dakar, Senegal. After dental school, Dr. Ashley also served as a visiting professor in Quito, Ecuador and treated patients in the Amazon.
