Get to know Hematologist-Oncologist Dr. Myo Min, who serves patients in Bel Air, Maryland.

A respected hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Min is the Division Head of Hematology at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center and a Partner in the Upper Chesapeake Hematology/Oncology practice. His medical focus is on benign and malignant hematology.

Regarding his educational background, Dr. Min received his medical schooling at the Institute of Medicine in Rangoon, Burma. He then completed his postgraduate training, including an internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in hematology/oncology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

As a testament of his continued education, he is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

On a professional level, Dr. Min is an active member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Among his academic appointments, he serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of blood diseases and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia, and lymphoma.

Regarded by his peers as knowledgeable in his field of medicine, Dr. Min has been nominated as one of the best doctors in hematology in Baltimore Magazine in 2011, 2012, and 2019.
