From infancy to young adulthood, Dr. Roberts is trained in the comprehensive orthopedic care for children. He has a special interest in the operative and non-operative treatment of spine conditions (e.g. scoliosis, kyphosis, and spondylolysis), lower extremity deformity (e.g. limb length difference, limb malalignment), and fracture care.
“My own experience as a parent has really informed my practice. Having a child gives you practical experience working with children but also the perspective of a parent. I believe it is my duty to care for your child as I would my own.”
A native of Illinois, Dr. Roberts received his Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University. He continued his medical school and orthopedic surgery residency training at Northwestern University, which included training at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, followed by fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Further solidifying his commitment to orthopedic surgery, Dr. Roberts attained board certification through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. It is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Holding academic appointments, he serves as an Instructor at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and is a Senior Clinical Educator at the University of Chicago.
Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Pediatric orthopedic surgeons diagnose, treat, and manage the full range of musculoskeletal problems in children.
Attributing his success to hard work and listening to his parents, Dr. Roberts has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals and lectured at national meetings.
In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children, swimming, playing golf, and biking. These activities allow him to stay active and enjoy the outdoors, which he finds to be a great stress reliever after a long day at work.
His favorite place to vacation is in France, and his favorite professional publication is the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics.
