He went on to complete his predoctoral dental education at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, graduating with his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2013. Before entering the private sector, he moved to Greenville, NC, where he completed a one year AEGD residency (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) at East Carolina University in 2014. Dr. Max joined Columbia Smiles CAYCE in 2014. Dr. Max and the Columbia Smiles CAYCE staff take a unique approach in building rapport with their patients. Whether it's a cleaning, a simple filling, or more complex treatment, they hold the patients' education in high regard; using visual representation and simple metaphors to ease patients' nerves and help them better understand the necessary treatment. Dr. Max shares a passion for cosmetic dentistry, but also takes great pride in restoring his patients' overall health with careful diagnosis and specifically indicated treatments. The CS CAYCE team pride themselves in great customer service, personability, and excellent patient care with a spa-like atmosphere for a relaxing and comfortable experience. "Like many offices, we take immense pride in lifting our patients' smiles. The dental profession is in the midst of an unprecedented metamorphosis, as insurance companies and corporate dentistry slowly strengthen their stronghold on the conventional private practitioner. Despite the pressures to join these models, we stand true to our core values, understanding the importance of careful diagnosis, quality over numbers, and the personal touch and compassion for our neighbors that is disappearing with our field's transformation. At Columbia Smiles CAYCE, we continually strive for perfection, only settle for excellence, and will always treat the patient behind the smile."
