Bringing Expertise in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Patient Safety to Miami’s Leading Healthcare Institution

Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida is proud to announce the appointment of Veronica Zoghbi, MD, as the Director of Pediatric Regional Anesthesia. Dr. Zoghbi brings a wealth of experience and expertise in pediatric anesthesiology, making her a valuable addition to the hospital’s renowned team.

Dr. Zoghbi graduated from Central University of Venezuela School of Medicine, where she laid the foundation for her illustrious career. Her pursuit of excellence led her to a research fellowship in endocrine and minimally invasive surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center. She honed her skills during a two-year residency in general surgery and further specialized with a fellowship in perioperative safety and management at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Zoghbi’s training continued with a research fellowship at Penn Medicine, focusing on Perioperative simulation, TeamSTEPPS training, and enhancing non-clinical skills for surgery residents. She completed her residency in anesthesiology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by specialized training in pediatric anesthesia and pediatric regional anesthesia at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.

Before joining Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Zoghbi served as faculty at Stanford, where she made significant contributions to pediatric anesthesia practices. Her dedication to patient safety, quality improvement, and sustainable practices in healthcare aligns perfectly with Jackson Memorial’s mission to provide high-quality medical care.

In her role as Director of Pediatric Regional Anesthesia, Dr. Zoghbi focuses on enhancing perioperative patient safety and implementing innovative approaches to anesthesia management for children.
