Get to know Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Drew C. Hunter, who serves patients in Chandler, Arizona

Dr. Hunter is a board certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist who welcomes patients at Chandler Radiology Associates in Chandler, Arizona. He also maintains hospital affiliation with Chandler Regional Medical Center at Dignity Health in Chandler, Arizona. Dr. Hunter specializes in diagnostic radiology, vascular and interventional radiology, and angiography. He is licensed to practice in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, and Arizona. 

Dr. Hunter is a 2004-graduate of the Spartan Health Sciences University in St Lucia. He then served an internship at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona (2004 – 2005), followed by a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital & Care Network in Chicago, Illinois (2005 – 2006), and, ultimately. A radiology residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona (2006 – 2010). Moreover, Dr. Hunter completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at  the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida (2010 – 2011).

Licensed to practice in Texas, Dr. Hunter is board-certified diagnostic radiology with a certificate of added qualification in vascular and interventional radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Established in 1934, the American Board of Radiology is a not-for-profit physician-led organization with headquarters in Tucson, Arizona. It oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology and medical physics.

Radiology is the medical discipline that uses medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the body. Interventional radiology is concerned with various minimally-invasive procedures using medical imaging guidance, such as x-ray fluoroscopy, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, or ultrasound.

Dr. Hunter is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He holds hospital privileges at several local hospitals, including Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Arizona.
