A board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained cutaneous oncologist, Dr. Zettersten is a part of the team at Dermatology Consultants of Marin, Inc., with offices in Greenbrae and San Rafael, California. Specializing in malignant melanoma and in-cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, she provides highly professional medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology to the community.
Dermatology Consultants of Marin, Inc. is a multi-provider practice specializing in medical, pediatric, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Their mission is to provide the highest level of service in the diagnosis and treatment of dermatologic diseases and skin cancers.
Originally from Sweden, Dr. Zettersten pursued her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Bonn, Germany, and her medical degree at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, where she also completed a European internship. After successfully passing the United States Medical Licensing Examinations, she completed an internship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and was thereafter selected as a resident at the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco.
As a testament of her continued education, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
In the past, Dr. Zettersten worked several years at the Melanoma Center at the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her accomplishments also include dermatological basic science research which she performed at the San Francisco VA Medical Center’s laboratories, as well as clinical research at the UCSF Melanoma Center and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She is the lead author of numerous scientific articles published in scholarly journals, such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
