There can be several reasons for developing cramps: 1) Running shoes 2) Shoe inserts - old or do you need them - goes with looking at the shoes 3) Running surface - avoid concrete - try track of trails 4) Level of hydration - including any medications or medical conditions. Are there any anti-inflammatory medicines I can take after running?

It is common for the pain to be more noticed after the race when the excitement and adrenaline have subsided. Ice and compression should help. I have a bad pain in my shoulders after playing handball. What should I do to get relief from the pain?
If your pain occurs primarily after your sports, you can treat it with ice or heat - whichever makes it feel better. You can use over-the-counter medication like Advil or Aleve mixed with Tylenol. Another technique is to take the medication 30 to 45 minutes before your sports. He followed up by completing a residency in general surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in 1982, and residencies in orthopaedic surgery at Howard University and Deaconess Hospital in 1986 and 1987, respectively. Finally, he completed a fellowship at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.
He served as the University physician at Catholic University for 17 years as well as worked with St. John’s College High School and H.D. Woodson High School after establishing Capitol Sports Medicine, which is now merged with Metro Orthopaedics & Sports Therapy.
A member of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians, Dr. Omohundro is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
