Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Emily Christine Battaglia, who serves patients in Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Battaglia is a board-certified cardiologist at the Sisters of Charity Hospital Cardiology Center in Buffalo, New York. Her philosophy for patient care is to provide the best care, individualized to each patient.

“I am dedicated to providing the highest level of care to each and every patient. Each patient will receive my complete and undivided attention as I assess their cardiac symptoms and conditions. Then together with the patient and my team, we will coordinate their care including testing and treatment. Needing to see a cardiologist is stressful, but I hope to ease a patient’s concerns and treat them with the best care available in the area” expressed the doctor.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Battaglia earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She then went on to complete her medical education, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the same educational venue.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor attained board certification in cardiovascular disease, nuclear medicine, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
