Born in New Delhi, India, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 7 with his family. He grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and became a United States citizen during his freshman year at Creighton Prep. During his undergraduate years at Creighton University, he worked as a Dataphone, EKG, and Holter technician. While working as an EKG technician, he developed an interest in becoming a physician, and whole-heartedly worked to achieve that goal.
Consequently, Dr. Ramachandran attended the Creighton University School of Medicine, graduating in the top 20% of his class. After completing an internship at Truman Medical Center, he went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the Creighton University Medical Center. Finally, he completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Creighton Cardiac Center.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
