Born, raised, and schooled in the Metro Detroit area, Dr. Czubatyj received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wayne State University and continued on at Wayne Medical School for his medical degree. While in medical school, he co-founded the WSU chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and served as its first president.
His next four years were spent on a combined residency program in internal medicine and pediatrics, where he was chosen to be the Chief Resident for the combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency program at the Detroit Medical Center. When his chief residency was completed, he started his fellowship in rheumatology at both the Detroit Medical Center and Henry Ford Hospital.
During his fellowship tenure, he presented numerous papers on a wide variety of topics related to his studies. Upon completing his fellowship, he joined Dr. John Tower’s medical practice at Arthritis Physicians, LLC. At that time, Dr. Czubatyj also became a member of the William Beaumont Hospital (Troy) Medical Staff.
A Fellow-in-Training at the American College of Radiology, he is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
To boot, he is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, which was founded in 1933. It is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and therapy of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases, pain disorders affecting joints, and osteoporosis.
