Dr. Jeffrey Velotta is a thoracic surgeon practicing in Northern California at Kaiser Permanente. Dr. Velotta specializes minimally invasive surgeries of the chest, lung, esophagus, mediastinum, pleura and airway. In addition to his busy clinical practice of the entire Northern California Kaiser Permanente population, he conducts an active research laboratory with emphasis on regionalization of thoracic surgery to specialty centers of excellence, lung cancer in never-smokers, lung cancer screening and surveillance, and pleural mesothelioma multi-modality management. Dr. Velotta also has a significant educational emphasis and that he is an active educator of UCSF medical students and surgical residents. Currently, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF, Department of Surgery, a Kaiser Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum (KLIC) teaching mentor, and Bernard Tyson Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine research mentor.
