How do they bring you out of anesthesia?

Why does it take so long to wake up from anesthesia?
I’m not sure how long you are speaking of. In general it takes somewhat longer to wake up from inhalational (gas) anesthesia than total IV anesthesia. There is some increase in awakening time if the surgery is longer, on the order of hours, for instance. But we are talking minutes here for most people. There may be some grogginess that persists for hours if a lot of pain medicine (narcotics) or sedative (like versed or Valium) was used. From Christopher Creighton READ MORE

How long can you drink alcohol after anesthesia?
I assume you are asking how much time you have to wait after anesthesia to consume alcohol. Most of us would recommend waiting 24 hours but some types of surgery require a longer wait. If I may ask, can you participate in activities without drinking alcohol? If not there may be other problems you need to address. Best of luck! From Christopher Creighton READ MORE

How will anesthesia be rationed during the coronavirus?
Anesthesia will not be rationed, so much as elective surgical cases will be limited if there is a possibility that the patient may require hospitalization after surgery. This is due to the fact that many hospital beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients. As far as I know there are no major changes in the use of anesthesia. From Christopher Creighton READ MORE
