Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Karen De La Cruz, who serves the population of Loma Linda, California. Dr. De La Cruz was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, in the western coastal area called Mayaguez. She relocated to the United States and graduated with her Medical Degree from Loma Linda University in 2003, giving her over a decade of experience in her field. After obtaining her Medical Degree she completed her pediatric residency with the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center. Dr. De La Cruz is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. To stay up to date in her field she remains a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She currently practices with Fontana Medical Center and Bellflower Medical Center within the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group. Pediatrics is the branch of medicine dealing with the health and medical care of infants, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 18. A pediatrician is a children’s physician who provides medical care to children who are acutely or chronically ill, as well as preventive health services to healthy children.
