Dr. Gerut is a dedicated, caring, and internationally recognized plastic surgeon in private practice in Hewlett, New York. His 25+ years of experience have given him the opportunity to change the look and improve the self-esteem of thousands of men and women on Long Island and New York City.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Gerut attended Brandeis University and then the University of Massachusetts Medical School, graduating with Special Distinction in Surgery. He served his internship and residency at Montefiore Hospital – Albert Einstein Medical Center in New York, after which he became an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery. He also serves as the Medical Director at the Touro University Physician Assistant School.

Bringing a vast wealth of experience and knowledge to his field, he is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Gerut is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and the Nassau County Medical Society.

Dedicated to the field of aesthetic plastic surgery, Dr. Gerut has been a member of — and has lectured internationally at the meetings of — the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. His innovations in cosmetic surgery have led to numerous newspaper and magazine articles, as well as national and international television appearances. With all these accomplishments, the plaque he treasures the most was given to him by the FDNY, made from World Trade Center Steel, for his service at ground zero on 9/11.
