Combining Experience, Education, and Community Service to Enhance Oral Health Care

Mitchell J. Gardiner, DMD, is proud to announce his continued commitment to providing exceptional dental care to the Shrewsbury community and beyond. With over four decades of experience in private practice, Dr. Gardiner specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental diseases and conditions, ensuring that patients of all ages receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. His extensive range of services includes family and children’s dentistry, and restorative and reconstructive procedures such as implants, crowns, bridges, and root canals. He also offers oral surgery, veneers, cosmetic dentistry, and clear tray orthodontics, making his practice a one-stop solution for all dental care requirements. 

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Gardiner serves as a senior dental attending at Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center, a prominent 476-bed acute care community hospital in Red Bank, NJ. His dedication to education is exemplified through his role as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Clinical Instructor in Restorative Dentistry- Fixed Prosthodontics at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he teaches dental students the science of crowns, bridges, and implant dentistry.

Dr. Gardiner earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ in 1977, and he proudly served as a Navy dentist for three years before opening his practice in 1980. With over 25 years of experience as an expert witness in dental malpractice cases, he is also a sought-after lecturer, presenting programs on dental malpractice issues across the United States.

Dr. Gardiner is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, the New Jersey Academy of General Dentistry, and the Monmouth–Ocean County Dental Society. His professional accolades include Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Gardiner is dedicated to philanthropy, being named Man of the Year by the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association in 2023, for his commitment to the Monmouth Park Racetrack employees and horsemen and women. In his personal life, he enjoys golfing, windsurfing, boating, and horseback riding, with Long Beach Island being his favorite vacation destination.
