Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Gretchen Suarez, who serves patients in Kettering, Ohio.

A knowledgeable hospitalist, Dr. Suarez serves patients at Kettering Health Main Campus in Kettering, Ohio.

Kettering Health is united in guiding every person to their best health. Their medical centers and outpatient centers provide faith-based community care to patients throughout western Ohio. Their mission is to empower patients to be their best. They are committed to bringing the latest in medical technology and advanced health care, hospital, medical, emergency, physical therapy, and imaging services to the community.

In regards to her educational background, Dr. Suarez graduated with her medical degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana Escuela de Medicina in the Dominican Republic in 2005. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Jewish Hospital Kenwood in 2013.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. They are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital.

On a more personal note, Dr. Suarez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
