Back in the early days of his academic career, he earned his medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Lubbock in 1990. He then went on to complete his residency in diagnostic radiology and his fellowship in vascular & interventional radiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1995 and 1996, respectively.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A radiologist is a physician who uses imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.
