A nationally recognized and respected cosmetic dermatologist and surgeon, Dr. Allen founded Dermatology Specialists with a unique focus: “…to create a place for both staff and patients to be seen and taken care of by compassionate and loving people. As the landscape changes for dermatology (and medicine more broadly), we want to be leaders in change for the better for our patients, community, and for each other.”

A skilled surgeon, after completing his residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Allen completed additional fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. Tailoring treatments to suit the unique skin health goals of each patient, Dr. Allen creates superior cosmetic outcomes, and is a recognized by his peers as an expert in both managing skin cancers and performing cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Allen serves as an expert and consultant for national and international cosmetic skin care companies, travelling across the country and world to train other providers in a variety of highly specialized cosmetic procedures. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the University of Colorado’s Department of Dermatology, has published textbook chapters and articles in leading dermatology journals, and is a regularly invited national and international speaker and trainer on skin cancer, cosmetic and surgical techniques and laser procedures for dermatologic, plastic, facial plastic, oculoplastic, and laser surgeons across the world.
