How long should it hurt after a chiropractic adjustment?
Pain is very subject. How long you may hurt depends on the severity of the problem and how much pain you're already in. Also your reaction to an adjustment may cause temporary soreness, kind of like feeling pain for a few days after over working out at a gym. So there is no perfect solid answer to your question without someone knowing the situation better. READ MORE
What is the popping sound during chiropractic adjustments?
That "popping" sound is just the sound of gas escaping the joint spaces. Anywhere in your body where there is movement; your fingers, toes, knees, jaw, spine... there is the ability for that movement to get stuck or restricted. When this happens a little vacuum or pocket of gas can get trapped between the bones. When a chiropractic adjustment or force is delivered that air shoots out of the joint space creating a pop. Much like the pop you hear when you break the bubble wrap around the package. Once that restriction is freed up the body moves better and the tension and pressure felt is relieved. READ MORE
Do chiropractors work on joints?
Yes, the motion between two bones is known as a joint. A chiropractic manipulation is a force put into the joint to free up restricted or abnormal movement in a joint. READ MORE
Can I take a shower after seeing a chiropractor?
You can absolutely take a shower after seeing a chiropractor! READ MORE
Why do chiropractors crack your bones?
That is a great question. The truth is it is also a big misconception. Anywhere in the body where there is movement, your toes, your fingers, your knees, your spine... there is the ability for the movement to get stuck. A chiropractor will apply a force to help free the movement. The "Crack" is just a sound when a pocket of air gets trapped in that joint space, and shoots out. So the "crack" you hear is just air escaping the joint space freeing up movement that should be there! READ MORE
What is the best home remedy for plantar fasciitis?

How does chiropractic relieve pain?

How can I fix my forward head posture while sleeping?
You can sleep on a Cervical corrective pillow to put the proper posture in your neck when you sleep. I also recommend not sleeping on more than one pillow. READ MORE
How should I sleep to fix rounded shoulders?
Rounded shoulders are generally more of a postural issue and not something that gets corrected by how you sleep. The ideal sleep position has been studied and although the most recommended position is the one most comfortable in, there are several factors to consider. The ideal "normal or neutral" position is flat on your back. The next most recommended position would be side sleeping. This has been debated about which side is preferred or recommended. I usually say L up so you don't put the most pressure down upon the heart. Followed by R side up. Finally, least recommended are the stomach sleepers. If you want to correct rounded shoulders, you should work on the issue while awake and with a professional that is helping to correct posture such as a chiropractor or a physical therapist. READ MORE
Which shoulder is higher in scoliosis?
It depends on which direction the scoliosis is. Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine and it can be a right lateral curve or left. So the higher shoulder will be dependent on the way the scoliosis presents. READ MORE
Elbow pain?
Even though you didn’t fall on the elbow directly the force from the impact of your hand up your arm to the elbow could still cause damage. If there is persistent pain go and get an X-ray and ensure there is no fracture or damage. Then seek some sort of care based on your preference. I’d recommend a chiropractor but others have sought out accupuncture or physical therapy. But regardless of the care you seek out... ensure it is safe to treat by getting the appropriate diagnostics! READ MORE
How can I realign my spine at home?
Unfortunately, you can't "re-align" your spine from home directly. You can do spinal hygiene (which would involve stretches and exercises) to help maintain alignment. You can do work outs and activity to promote proper spinal health. But the fact of alignment itself is that the bones align in a very specific angle and degree. And they move along very specific plane lines. Therefore a professional or someone who would be able to "adjust" "manipulate" or "mobilize" such as a licensed chiropractor, physical therapist, or osteopath would be able to physically align you. READ MORE
Can being out of alignment cause knee pain?
Yes. The knee's are the bodies "shock absorbers" and when the body is out of alignment from the feet up to the pelvis, or the pelvis and hips down to the feet, a lot of stress and strain falls to the knees. This can not only cause pain but throw off muscle balance, and affect how you walk, sit, or stand. READ MORE
Can I see my chiropractor and massage therapist during covid-19?
You can absolutely see your massage therapist of chiropractor during the pandemic. States have mandated that services by chiropractor are essential, and massage has been deemed ok. Being in contact with someone does have it's risks but most facilities and professionals have protocols in place for your protection. I would ask your provider or treating physician what their methods of safety are and if your are comfortable treat! READ MORE
How do you stretch your middle back?
There are many ways to stretch the thoracic spine or mid back. You can raise your arms up and arch back wards. You can do planks. Or you can roll a towel up down the center of you back and lay over it letting your shoulder blades hug the towel. READ MORE
What does it mean when a chiropractor says you have a rib out?
Ribs just like any other bones in the body can move and shift out of place. A "rib out" means that the rib head where it attaches into the torso might have shifted slightly causing some inflammation and irritation. When this happens, it means that there is the possibility of pain and discomfort on certain motions, deep breaths, or coughing. This is not major, but only subtle motion so it is nothing that needs to be worried about. It is something that is easily fixed with chiropractic adjustments. READ MORE
Why does a chiropractor crack your neck?
A chiropractor doesn't "crack" anything. What happens is he releives misalignments in the spine through use of impulse and manipulation. The "crack" sound is just the sound of gas between joint spaces where there have been restriction or other form of dysfunction. The neck being the closest thing to the brain can be a more powerful area of the body to get a release from so many chiropractors will work on the neck. Others will just focus on the area of complaint. READ MORE
What shouldn't you do if you have scoliosis?
You should avoid any side bending exercises that will further enhance or put stress on the convexity of your scoliotic curve READ MORE
