  • What is the best pain reliever after a root canal?

Thank you for asking. Motrin is usually the best pain reliever for dental pain. If you’re unable to take Motrin than Tylenol as directed. Warm salt water rinses and cool compresses. If the pain lingers seek a follow up appointment. Good luck. READ MORE

A skilled dentist, Dr. Foster is the Owner and Primary Provider at Clarkson Family Dental, purchasing the practice in 2002 after five years as an associate. He attributes his success to his supportive family, amazing staff, and to Clarkston Family Dental’s founder (and his grandfather-in-law), Dr. Hunt.

Serving the community for over 30 years, Clarkston Family Dental is committed to providing excellence in family dentistry to meet the needs of today’s patients in a family-oriented, non-clinic atmosphere. From preventative and restorative dental procedures to cosmetic smile makeovers, the practice is committed to patients’ independent dental health by offering personalized care in private treatment rooms.

A native to the area, Dr. Foster grew up on Detroit’s east side and graduated from Notre Dame High School. He completed both his undergraduate work and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry in 1997. Soon after his graduation, he became an active associate at the dental practice, before purchasing it years later.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

On a more personal note, Dr. Foster enjoys spending time with his family, vacationing, and working out. He and his family enjoy traveling to Utah for skiing and to Florida to relax in the sunshine and visit Disney.
