Get to know Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Specialist Dr. Diane F. Lam, who serves patients in New York, New York. 

Dr. Lam, a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist, currently serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Care, and Pain Medicine at NYU Langone Health in New York, New York.

“We continue our tradition of outstanding clinical care and a commitment to resident education. Clinical teaching has always been emphasized in our program, and has resulted in outstanding performance of our residents on the in-training examination and in ultimate board certification. Back in 2004, Dr. Lam earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in New York City, New York. She then went on to complete her residency in anesthesiology and her fellowship in pain management at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in 2008 and 2009, respectively. 

To provide the best care for her patients, she keeps abreast of the latest developments of pain medicine and incorporates the most cutting-edge treatment modalities in her practice. She is board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care.

From her extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various pain management conditions, Dr. Lam authored a pain management chapter in First Aid for the Anesthesiology Boards.
