Dr. Godshalk Ruggles is a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon with Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell in Pennington, New Jersey. She specializes in minimally invasive procedures to improve patients’ quality. An expert in implementing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, Dr. Godshalk Ruggles focuses on the prevention and treatment of diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. 

Dr. Godshalk Ruggles attended Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, where she received her medical degree in 2012. She then conducted her internship and general surgery residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire (2012 – 2017). Dr. Godshalk Ruggles is fellowship trained in minimally-invasive colon and rectal surgery (2017 – 2018) and colon and rectal surgery (2018 – 2019) at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.

The doctor attained board certification in general surgery through the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

A member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College Of Surgeons, Dr. Godshalk Ruggles has presented colorectal surgery research at national conferences. She is a published researcher who was listed among the 2020 Top Docs in SJ Magazine. The doctor is licensed to practice in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Outside her professional commitments, she enjoys spending her spare time with her family and her German Shepherd dog, Nola.
