What causes muscle inflammation?
Muscle inflammation can be caused by many things. New challenges to the musculoskeletal system within a workout are meant to break down muscle to promote repair and respiration for strength gains, which is initiated through the inflammatory response. Injury will also elicit an inflammatory response for healing. It is important to know inflammation is a normal response in the body, and it is necessary for healing and repair. However, chronic inflammation is not normal. READ MORE

What happens if you let a pinched nerve in the back go untreated?
The diagnosis of a pinched nerve can cover many different issues occurring. You can be having symptoms from decreased mobility in the joints between the vertebra of spine (facet joints), you can have inflammation of nerve tissue, you can have increased tension through the ligament and muscle tissue along the spine. Leaving this untreated can result in symptoms lingering for longer periods of time or getting worse. However, the symptoms may get better depending on your activity. I always suggest following up on these symptoms if they are getting worse or if they are unchanged over the course of 5-7 days. Thank you, Dr. Kristen Fogle, PT, DPT READ MORE

Align Health was founded by Jamie Coburn Van Horn. Although recently established, the idea originated about 15 years ago. Ten years into her career as an occupational therapist, Jamie knew she was called to do more in healthcare – what that “more” was she wasn’t quite sure at that time. Then through her own life experiences – recovery from a severe motor vehicle accident, life/career changes, and the adoption of a neurodiverse child – she was faced with navigating a path of challenges. She set forth to align a group of holistic professionals to serve her integrative health needs. It is from this mission, Jamie founded Align Health – a collaborative mind body wellness approach to optimal lifestyle management.
As the name implies, Align Health is a collaborative group of mind body wellness professionals “giving support to” (align) clients’ efforts of achieving a “state of physical, mental, and social well-being” (health).
Physical therapy (PT), also known as physiotherapy, is one of the allied health professions that, by using evidence-based kinesiology, electrotherapy, shockwave modality, exercise prescription, joint mobilization and health education, treats conditions such as chronic or acute pain, soft tissue injuries, cartilage damage, arthritis, gait disorders, and physical impairments typically of musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, neurological, and endocrinological origins. Physical therapy is used to improve a patient’s physical functions through physical examination, diagnosis, prognosis, physical intervention, rehabilitation, and patient education. It is practiced by physical therapists (known as physiotherapists in many countries).
On a more personal note, Dr. Fogle is passionate about fitness, including both running and Crossfit. She resides in the greater Columbus area with her husband, son, and golden doodle, all of which keep her on her toes outside the clinic. She brings her passion of life and fitness to her treatment style to help her clients achieve their lifestyle goals.
