How Autism Has Affected My Life
Who in your life has been affected by autism and how?
My life has been affected by many of my family. My adopted daughter, my oldest granddaughter and my oldest grandson are all on the spectrum as well as my great niece.
Where is your loved one on the spectrum?
My grandson is a very intelligent aspberger, my adopted daughter is mildly autistic and my granddaughter is delayed overall.
What do you wish people would understand about autism?
These children experience the world very differently from how we view it. They are very loving individuals who find it difficult to fit the social norms of society. They are fierce when it comes to their preferences whether it's food, clothing and personal boundries.
