I was born in 1957, making me 61 when I joined this group. My life really changed in 1993 when I had a cerebral hemorrhage which caused me to be legally blind, have fine motor issues, balance problems, and had to learn to walk all over again. What symptoms led up to your diagnosis?

Travelling pains over several years.

What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?

X-rays and lots of blood tests.

My primary care doctor treated the pains that I had over the years and then suggested I might have fibromyalgia. He sent me to a rheumatologist who did the other tests. She knew her stuff, but had a terrible bedside manner and did not communicate well. I got tired of that and quit going to her. Now I see my primary and a chiropractor as needed.

Upon learning about your diagnosis, what happened next?

I was given pills, which I had a side effect. So, I would try a different pill, and then a different one, but nothing seemed to work without severe side effects.

Now, I am basically treating it on my own, losing weight, exercising, taking supplements, essential oils, and eating vegan. I try new things for a while until they prove either helpful or not.
