An apparent one is due to a pelvic tilt or other misalignment at the pelvis or knee or maybe even just a muscle imbalance. An actual deficiency is corrected by taking an X-ray and measuring the amount deficient and making a corrective heel lift or orthotic to level it. An apparent one can be helped with chiropractic manipulation of pelvis and/or knee as well as other physical therapy procedures. Have it checked out by a chiropractor to see what you have happening.

You should have the knees reevaluated as well to discover the muscle imbalances that there are. More than likely the swelling is in the soft tissue around the knees and they should be evaluated to help decrease the swelling.
