Dr. Steven S. Louis is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who treats patients at Hinsdale Orthopaedics in Hinsdale, Illinois. He has been serving the needs of patients throughout the Chicagoland area for over 30 years. He is well-versed in all facets of orthopaedics, but has special interest in hip and knee replacements. Due to his extensive training, Dr. Louis is also able to treat patients with traumatic injuries, such as pelvic injuries, complex fractures, nonunions, and infections, in particular. There are only a few surgeons in the Chicago area that perform total hip replacement via the Direct Anterior Approach, and Dr. Louis is one of them. Perfecting this technique has been a smooth and natural transition from his pelvic trauma reconstructive work, having completed thousands of Direct Anterior Hip Replacement surgeries in the last decade. Dr. Louis graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, earning his medical degree. From there, he completed his internship and subsequent residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He then went on to perform his orthopaedic trauma fellowship at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. In addition to his clinical role with Hinsdale Orthopaedics that he has held since 1997, Dr. Louis holds privileges at several local hospitals, including Hinsdale Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Salt Creek Surgery Center. Striving to always remain up-to-date in his field, Dr. Steven Louis maintains a professional membership with many organizations, such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the DuPage County Medical Society, the Illinois Orthopaedic Society, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
