Neurologist Questions Acoustic Neuroma

Acoustic neuroma

I had a surgery for acoustic neuroma about 4 years ago followed by Cyber Knife a year later. Recent MRI showed the tumor is growing back (now is 2 cm x 1.9 cm x 1.9 cm). What are the options for treatment, do I need any or just the observation?

Options may include observation with serial imaging, re-resection, or potentially repeat stereotactic radiosurgery. It is important to discuss each of these options with your neurosurgeon after undergoing recent imaging.
You have been through both surgery and radiation treatment. It sounds that the size of the tumor is significant; The most important issue is if it is causing symptoms for you. If it is then it may be time to revise treatment options  ( surgery , radiation or both ). Discus this further with your treating physicians as to what your best options might be. Good luck.
