Massage can alleviate your pain. Heel spur can be there but if inflammation is treated it will not be causing you any pain.
Unfortunately it cannot be fixed with massage, but the soft tissue may feel better with massage.
No. A heel spur is the result of a biomechical fault which if you are experiencing pain needs to be addressed. Surgical removal of the heel spur and transaction of the plantar fascia is successful only 50% of the time and usually is not necessary.
Hi! I would see an evaluation by a podiatrist for the source of your heel pain. In general spurs are bone and cannot be fixed by massage but it can help with any pain or tightness.
Massaging a bone spur is not going to resolve the spur, it may make the symptoms better. I recommend that you seek the consultation of a podiatrist.
Hello, Thank you for your question. We you have to evaluate you and take foot x-rays if needed. Please call our office 973-817-9577 or on our portal drtotten.com for an appointment.
Thank you
Heel spurs can only be removed with surgery. That said, the pain is not usually due to the heel spur. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle specialist (podiatrist) for diagnosis and treatment options.
Massages may help, but if several massages fail to alleviate the pain for longer than a few days, you should seek the help of your local Podiatrist
