“What happened to me?”
I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and felt dizzy and sick. I woke up laying over the toilet.

Hi, that can feel terrible you should have a workup call your doctor sounds like it was a vasovagal type of syncope that needs a few tests.
Sounds like you passed out. We call this syncope. Usually, some type of illness causes a decrease in the blood pressure to your brain and you lose consciousness. Almost any illness can cause this passing out to occur. You should see your doctor to find out why you felt dizzy and sick in the middle of the night.
It sounds like you may have had syncopal episode (passing out often due to neurological causes). Please go see your primary care physician, or preferentially good to the emergency room immediately.

Maybe this was an acute colitis or food poisoning. Need more information.
A lot of things could cause your symptoms , inner ear most commonly, but also migraine, gastrointestinal illness, or, rarely a neurological disorder.
