“Do children with leukemia need chemotherapy?”
My friend's son is 9 years old and recently was diagnosed with leukemia. Do children with leukemia need chemotherapy, or are there other treatment options?

Systemic cytotoxic chemotherapy is the only known curative treatment for childhood leukemia. Stem cell transplants, reserved for poor prognosis or relapsed cases, ALSO includes chemotherapy in the various treatment protocols.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! Fortunately, nowadays children with the most likely type of leukemia have EXCELLENT cure rates with chemo!!
