Plastic Surgeon Questions Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

What can I do to prepare for my tummy?

I have a tummy tuck scheduled to be done after the New Year. Is there anything that I can do to prepare for my surgery?

Lose as much weight pre-op as you can. Limit alcohol intake and eliminate smoking.
The initial recovery for an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is 2-3 weeks and often includes the need to manage drains for the first 1-2 weeks. The ability to return to work is variable and depends on many factors including the type of work, the pain tolerance of the patient, and the extent of the procedures.
