What are some stretches my son can do at home for back pain?
My favorite low back exercises... YouTube “Lower back workout with Dr. Eric Goodman.” The video is 11:59 long. It’s a great routine for getting out of pain but more importantly strengthening and keeping out of pain. It’s a video from Dr. Goodman’s Foundation Training which is a whole program I suggest looking up as well. READ MORE
Can sciatica pain extend to my leg?
It’s possible for sure. It could be a muscle issue as well. Difficult to know exactly without a proper history and evaluation, but you have the right idea. I would consult with your chiropractor. READ MORE
What can I do about discomfort in my back?

Chiropractic treatments will help to guide the realigning of the spine with the brace over time. I’d highly recommend that. As the brace works to change the structure, adjustments will help ease discomfort and restore normal spinal function. READ MORE

What is causing my random back pain?
I would consider other common stressors as the source of your pain: poor posture, sitting long periods, poor mattress, driving, improper lifting or exercise form, old injuries, etc. Getting an evaluation by your chiropractor or PT could help to identify the source of your pain and give treatments and suggestions on how to avoid that in the future. READ MORE
Will yoga help in treating my hip pain?
That’s very possible. I would personally get checked by my chiropractor to make sure the hip was functioning correctly and then use yoga as a way to rehab and prevent further injury and discomfort. READ MORE
My son hurt his back and needs to undergo surgery. Will it affect his future life?
I would look for a chiropractor that specializes in functional neurology to help you figure that out. After surgery it’s likely they can’t receive traditional chiropractic treatments so a functional neurologist has many tools to help rehabilitate the neurological issues that may have come from the injury. Get to know Chiropractor Dr. Skylar W. Bakko, who serves patients in Centennial, Colorado.
Dr. Bakko is a skilled chiropractor who is the Founder of Baku Chiropractic & Functional Medicine in Centennial, Colorado. Committed to shifting the health paradigm in his community, he has chosen to devote his life to the healing arts with the hope of changing the world, one person’s health at a time.
With the knowledge and expertise to help one heal naturally, he believes that the body is capable of self-healing, self-regulating, and self-maintaining. He uses a combination of unique techniques, advanced technology, and compassionate care to help people of all ages and conditions reach higher health. Along with general chiropractic care, he specializes in brain-based wellness with a focus on thyroid problems.
Born and raised in Marysville, Michigan, it was there that Dr. Bakko initially began receiving regular holistic care at a young age. It was his family chiropractor who inspired him to become a healing practitioner himself.
While he knew he wanted to pursue a career as a natural healer, his decision was solidified when his family chiropractor saved his mother’s life. His mother had been experiencing seemingly random symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, poor sleep, digestive problems, muscle pain, and hair loss, when their chiropractor detected a potential problem with her thyroid.
Following his recommendation, Dr. Bakko’s mother was checked by her doctor. She was initially diagnosed with an infection. Their chiropractor urged her to get a second opinion. It was then that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Thanks to their family chiropractor, it was detected early enough to cure and to this day, she remains cancer-free.
As he grew older, Dr. Bakko’s passion for natural health grew with him. He has since earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa and completed hours of study on Brain-Based Wellness.
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain and back pain. They aim to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by properly aligning the body’s musculoskeletal structure and enabling the body to heal itself without the use of medication or surgery.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bakko enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Susana. He also loves to exercise, play the drums, go on hikes, and bowl on Saturday nights.
