Dr. Hix-Hernandez is an outstanding plastic surgeon who leads the Plastic Surgery Department at Beleza Surgery in Austin, Texas. Even more important, she has a warm bedside manner and goes to great lengths to make sure her patients understand their procedures.
Formerly with Baylor Scott & White Health in Round Rock, she brings years of experience of plastic surgery in Round Rock at a major teaching hospital to Beleza. Her specialties include advanced and complex cosmetic and aesthetic surgeries with a primary emphasis on breast augmentation and reduction, breast lifts, tummy tucks, mommy makeovers, gynecomastia surgery, body contouring, and cosmetic revisions. She also sees patients at multiple other Beleza Medspa locations in Texas.

Throughout her academic career, she studied at Texas Tech University College of Arts and Sciences, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology in 1999 and graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then went on to earn her medical degree from Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso in 2003.
As for her training, Dr. Hix-Hernandez performed a residency in general surgery at Texas A&M University/Scott & White Memorial Hospital in 2008. Two years later, in 2010, she completed an additional residency in plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.
Furthering her practice, she is a member of the American College of Surgeons (Fellow), the American Medical Association, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Texas Medical Association.
In addition to the hands-on aspects of her work, Dr. Hix-Hernandez is actively involved in local public speaking as a guest lecturer on breast cancer and wound care.
Attributing her success to formal and family support, she is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
