My son is 3 years old and is still on the bottle. Will it have an impact on the shape of his teeth?
Not usually unless he is still on a bottle and using a pacifier when he's 6-7 years old as his permanent front teeth are set to erupt
Can you get a cavity under braces?
Kind of, usually it can happen right around the base of the bracket but that happens as a result of poor hygiene over time during treatment
Do braces stain your teeth?
No. Sometimes the adhesive underneath will stain from regularly drinking dark liquids, but when braces are removed, the adhesive polishes off and it's gone.
How often are the rubber bands changed on braces?
The little colored bands on each bracket get changed at each appointment normally
I am diabetic and have to undergo an orthodontic treatment. Will my diabetes affect my healing process?
If your diabetes is controlled then no, typically ortho treatment can be done just fine.
What can't you eat with braces?
Two basic rules, no really hard crunchy stuff or really sticky gooey stuff
Which braces are best metal or ceramic?
They essentially work the same but look different cosmetically. That's about the only major difference.
Which straightens your teeth better?
Both can do a great job, but it depends on a few things that Invisalign cannot do well. Best to see an orthodontist to know
Do I have to wear a retainer forever?
Nightly wear long term is the only way to make sure teeth stay straight. Sometimes you can skip nights and be okay but be very careful if you are doing that.
Can I straighten my teeth without braces?
Sometimes an Invisalign type treatment is an option but seeing an orthodontist would be the way to find out.

Basically really hard crunchy things and really sticky gooey things.

Typically adult treatment takes a bit longer and sometimes there are fewer options available due to no growth happening as there is in adolescents.

Totally depends on what problems are being fixed. Your orthodontist can tell you what the estimated time will be.
Can I drink coffee with braces?
Yep. If you're drinking anything sugary or acidic you may want to rinse out afterwards.
Is Invisalign as good as normal braces?
It can. Sometimes it's not as efficient or will do as good of a job. But there are other things it does better. Depends on the patient and what needs we're trying to correct.

Anti-inflammatory meds early and often

Usually after a few months, you can start to see that things are changing

It's not so much about the type, but who is using them that will allow for quality results.
How often do I need to get the crowns on my teeth replaced?
You should talk with your dentist about that but usually with good hygiene and maintenance, crowns should last decades.
Will my orthodontist know that I haven't worn my retainer for a week?
For some, teeth move within days of not using retainers properly. Others, their teeth hardly move.
