Despite the lack of a headache you are describing an ophthalmic migraine with temporary "blind spots" known as scotoma and scintillating scotoma, the "shaky" areas around the scotoma. Look up Ophthalmic migraine images on google and you will see images much as you describe. The vascular spasm, accompanied by your symptoms, and subsequent dilation which accompanies the resolution of your symptoms occurs in the occipital portion of the brain. The area involved is not large enough to cause enough increased blood volume to produce the pounding headache associated with classic migraine. In either condition mechanism of spasm followed by dilation of blood vessels is the same, and symptoms are self limited, and there is rarely any structural damage.
