The special relationship between the quality of health and mental health services available to a given population and the sociopolitical nature of that population is coming under increased scrutiny as discriminatory practice comes to light. The services available to the poor, to visible minorities, and to women appear to be less thorough, less complete, and certainly less satisfactory than those available to white males escaping the above categories. I believe that politics and prejudice are at work.

Homo Sapiens is said to have outdueled, Neanderthal, Dionysus, Erectis etc on the basis of a genetic mutation that enabled neocortical enhancement that accommodated more efficient exploitation of the environment. A social philosophy quickly evolved. Hostility towards helpers is increasing worldwide, women helpers (in countries permitting) are being attacked more frequently. In the USA, attacks on nurses have tripled in the last 3 years.

We may be facing the same sort of ecological crisis that eliminated hominids almost as complicated as with omicron, ebola, etc. pushing us with the help of climate change towards destruction.
