Hi! Psychotherapy, otherwise known as counseling, can give you the tools to cope with anxiety. It can also help you work out the reasons for your anxiety, thus reducing or eliminating the anxiety altogether. Sometimes medication in conjunction with therapy is helpful. Hello, Because there are varying degrees of ADD, and some people are on medication that is effective for them, while others do not take medication, and some people are more receptive to therapy/ counseling than others, there is no way to put a time frame on the course of treatment for ADD. Age matters, too! An adult is much more likely to have a shorter plan of treatment than a child. There are very few absolutes when it comes to mental health, but I hope this helps!

Hi, Marriage counseling does work, if both of you are committed to making it work. The reason marriage counseling often fails is because one partner already has one foot out of the door. If this is the case, it is difficult for counseling to work. In any endeavor, if one partner is working harder than the other, the results are likely to show it. Hi, There is always help! It may take an in-patient stay to detox from the medication, then an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) that usually meets three times a week for three hours each day/evening to give you tools to stay sober. NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings are also valuable tools in maintaining sobriety. You also need to find out why you are having headaches in the first place. There may be something going on that needs to be addressed by something other than pain medication. There are many medications that can help prevent or control headaches that are not addictive and are not pain relievers. Please see your PCP or a neurologist as soon as you are able.

Hi, There are several things you can do. Encourage your daughter's friend to talk to the school counselor and tell the counselor what is going on at home. Counselors are mandated reporters, meaning they are legally bound to report all allegations of abuse to the the police or CPS, or both. You can also encourage your daughter's friend to talk to a trusted teacher. Teachers are also mandated reporters. The other option is for you to make a report online to CPS.
