Arthritis is a disease that causes an inflammation of the joints. Affecting one or multiple joints, Arthritis is a disease that attacks the human bones. It is most commonly found in older people, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be diagnosed in the younger population. When Arthritis affects older people, it is caused as а result of deformation of the bones. At one point the bones might even collide with each other, which can often lead to arthritis, also known as rheum. At younger ages, Arthritis can be diagnosed if the person has someone in the family who already suffered from this disease. That means that arthritis is, as a matter of fact, a hereditary disease. From many of the studies conducted on the subject, majority of them state that half of the younger population that suffers from Arthritis inherits it as a result of their parents already possessing it. Arthritis cannot be completed cured, but it can be treated to a degree that a patient can live a full life. This means that the person, no matter at what age if diagnosed with Arthritis, can control or neutralize the pain (for some time) of the disease with certain medications, treatments and therapies.

The main goal of these treatments is to reduce the amount of pain that an individual experiences and also to prevent additional damage that the joints may incur because of the disease. Depending on the severeness of the disease, your doctor may prescribe you a combination of treatment methods to achieve the best results. Keeping this in mind, we will now discuss in detail about the medications that can be used to treat arthritis:

  • Painkillers
  • Injection
  • Steroids
  • Anti-rheumatic drugs and injections
  • Chemotherapy and Gout antibiotics

The painkillers can be used in all forms of arthritis. Antibiotics can help the person who is suffering from arthritis to suppress or to decrease the pain. Depending on the form of arthritis and what age the person is, the painkillers can be very helpful. Painkillers must be consumed when pain is present and they have to be prescribed by the doctor, otherwise, no medical shop will let you buy them.

Pain relievers are also, a form of a painkiller because they also have the effect of suppressing the pain. Unlike painkillers, pain relievers are most commonly used when the pain is present, but is not so severe, which means that the person can take pain relievers only when they suffer from arthritis in the early stage. Like painkillers, pain relievers also need a prescription from a doctor to buy from the market.

Injection is also used as a medication for arthritis, but when the pain is too severe. Injections used to cure the pain for Arthritis are also known as hyaluronic injections. These injections are used when the person is suffering from osteoporosis (which is a form of arthritis). As a part of relieving pain, the injection must be directly injected to the place where the pain is located. If a person is exposed to the treatment with injection for a longer period, chances are that he/she will contain the pain. But, that won’t guarantee that the person will be completely cured. Painkillers or pain relievers’ antibiotics should be taken orally from time to time but always ensure that you talk to your doctor before continuing or consuming it.

Steroids are also very effective when it comes to arthritis. The only problem with steroids is that they should not be consumed for a longer period especially if they are consumed orally. The doctor avoid prescribing steroids to the patients, they rather use injections where they directly inject into the part of the body that is affected with arthritis. But, just like the orally consumed pill, the steroid injection should not be used for a longer period. Steroid injections often have side effects that vary from person to person. If the steroid use is brief (from a few days to a few weeks), it is possible that none of the side effects related to the disease would occur. However, if steroid use involves high doses and is prolonged for a longer period involving a few months to several years, high side effects may prevail. Most of the doctors suggest that the steroids should be used as a last resort and should be consumed proportionally.

Anti-rheumatic drugs are used very often in order to treat arthritis. They can be prescribed for every form or version of arthritis. They must be prescribed by a doctor and also are very effective to cure the pain caused by the disease. But, besides that, they can also have some nasty side effects. Sometimes, they may need weeks or months in order to work properly in the body functioning. Between that time you will have to endure the pain. The doctors often prescribe injections, so the person who is affected with arthritis and it’s treated with antirheumatic drugs, don’t feel the pain. This treatment may be the most effective treatment for arthritis.

Chemotherapy is most often associated with treatment of cancer but it is can also be used to treat arthritis. Chemotherapy and gout drugs are also one of the treatments that are used as last resorts. Even though arthritis can be very painful, chemotherapy and gout drugs can treat every form of the disease and decrease the pain drastically. Medications like ibuprofen and naproxen can be used to relieve pain and inflammation caused by arthritis so that it stops attacking the joints.

Arthritis is very serious illness or disease that can be controlled and detained if it’s discovered in the early stages. That is the reason why people advise that the person suffering from arthritis should visit the doctor very often in order to help themselves as much as they could. The more honestly and clearly they voice about their body condition and its side effects to the doctor, the better their doctor will understand the condition and will thus act accordingly to cure the disease and pain of the patient.
