The research and its subsequent findings help to break ground into a potentially fruitful pursuit of better understanding the intricacies of celiac disease. As is the case with a variety of other diseases, scientists' and researchers' abilities to discover these connections between serious health conditions can help patients in terms of the treatment they receive. Following the study, Dr. Karb commented that, “there is a large undiagnosed burden of celiac disease… And a lot of it is probably because of these atypical presentations.” While the findings from the study were not extremely detailed, the connection could prove to be an important gateway into even more findings.
