Actemra is a monoclonal antibody which is used to improve the signs and symptoms of moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis.

It can be used alone or in combination with other drugs to reduce the inflammation and to prevent joint damage after other drugs have not proved to be of much use.

It is also used in idiopathic variants of arthritis. It is a prescription drug, available only in the form of injectable solution, which can be used only under strict supervision of a physician.
